Are you allowed to bring deodorant on a plane?

There is a mistake that is made too often by first-time flyers and weary travellers. That mistake is trying to bring deodorant(in the wrong form) onto a plane. Sometimes this mistake is made out of ignorance and other times passengers simply forget to take it out of their hand luggage before going to the airport. It makes for an embarrassing and frightening ordeal, either way. It’s best to make double sure that you are following the correct airline regulations.

What forms of deodorant are allowed on planes?

Stick and powder deodorants are allowed on planes in most sizes. If you’re buying other forms of deodorants for your trip (spray, gel, liquid, creams and roll-on) make sure that they are smaller than 3.4 ounces. They also have to be placed in a clear bag for easy inspection. Always remember that roll-on is a also liquid. Don’t confuse it with stick.

It’s always best to check with the airline you are travelling with beforehand for any specific regulations regarding deodorant.

What will happen if you try to bring the wrong type of deodorant on-board?

You will not get arrested for it, but they will confiscate your deodorants, which is never a nice feeling. If you still feel unsure of what is allowed, rather buy your products at the shops near the airport terminals. Just remember to bring clear baggies to store them in.
